Renown Global ("we", "us", or "our") operates the mobile game Matatu Madness (the "Game"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

By downloading or playing Matatu Madness, you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Username — a display name you choose when setting up your profile. This appears on the in-game leaderboard.

Information collected automatically

Device identifier — a unique identifier generated on your device. We use this to create and maintain your anonymous game account without requiring you to register.
Game scores and run data — your scores, personal best, challenge results, and reward history are stored on our servers to power the leaderboard and rewards system.
App usage and analytics events — we collect in-game events such as game start, game end, ad interactions, and challenge outcomes. This data is used to understand how the game is played and to improve it.

Information collected by third-party services

We use the following third-party services that may collect data independently under their own privacy policies:

Google AdMob — serves advertisements within the game. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers (such as Google Advertising ID), device information, and interaction data to serve and measure ads. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Firebase Analytics — collects anonymised usage events to help us understand gameplay patterns and app stability. See Google's Privacy Policy.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and maintain your in-game account
Display your username and score on the leaderboard
Track challenge progress and deliver rewards
Serve advertisements through AdMob
Analyse gameplay to fix bugs and improve the experience
Maintain the security and stability of our backend services, including rate-limiting and abuse prevention (for which we process your IP address transiently; we do not use it to determine your location or store it as location data)

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Data Retention

We retain your game account data (username, scores, reward history) for as long as your account is active. If you would like your data deleted, contact us at the address below and we will remove it within 30 days.

Analytics data collected by Firebase is retained according to Google's standard retention settings (up to 14 months by default).

4. Advertising

Matatu Madness displays ads provided by Google AdMob, including rewarded video ads that grant in-game benefits. AdMob may use your advertising identifier to personalise ads based on your interests.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through your device settings:

Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID or opt out of ads personalisation

5. Children's Privacy

Matatu Madness is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

6. Your Rights

Under Kenya's Data Protection Act 2019, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction — request that inaccurate data be corrected
Deletion — request that your data be deleted
Objection — object to certain types of processing
Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (www.odpc.go.ke)

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Your game account data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on secured servers.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Game after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
